Beta-pinene (β-pinene) is a monoterpene, an organic compound found in plants. It is one of the two isomers of pinene, the other being alpha-pinene. It is colorless liquid soluble in alcohol, but not water. It has a woody-green pine-like smell.

Beta pinene is one of the main components of turpentine; however in this product it is pure. It is a good turpentine substitute because it has less smell and doesn’t contain any other products that could be allergenic. Use it to dissolve dammar resin, prepare oil painting mediums, dilute varnishes or oil colors or simply to wash your painting tools.

Like any solvent, this product should be used in a well ventilated area and tested thoroughly before selecting it for definitive use.
