Egg tempera

Egg tempera is one of the oldest painting techniques. However it remains unknown to most contemporary artists even tough it is easy to paint in tempera. Furthermore, this technique produces works of great permanence and quality.

You will need dry pigments, one egg, flexible steel spatulas or a muller as well as a glass surface and a container to prepare the paint.

A piece of glass mounted steadily onto a table like the one we use in this demonstration, is the ideal tool to prepare your colors for any painting techniques. It is a low-cost tool that's easy to put together and it makes the whole process of preparing paint a lot easier.
